Another surprise is talented Malaysian junior Yeoh Li Tian held Bangladesh first GM Niaz Murshed to a draw. GM Niaz Murshed playing Black, essayed the solid French Defence. However, Yeoh Li Tian showed exemplary play without making any mistakes and the Grandmaster could not make any headway and agreed to the draw. In the end, the Grandmaster only had 24 seconds on his clock while Li Tian had 10 minutes! (there is no time increment in this tournament)
