*Malaysia currently no 3. Has been interview by Malay mail recently.


IM Jimmy Liew (2315 elo)
*A very experienced player. A blogger, (chess is chess). Has been representing Malaysia in many tournament.


Yeoh Li Tian (1971 elo)
*Chess prodigy. Very talented player. Good in drawing against strong players. He is still undefeated after round 5 in KL Open.


Lim Chuing Hoong Ronnie (2294 elo)
*A doctor. Performed very well.


Mohd Abdul Haq (2057 elo)
*Didn't performed quite well. Defeated Ian Udani recently.


Evan Capel Timothy (2023 elo)
*Born in Penang. Funny but strong player.


Nik Nik Ahmad Farouqi (2108 elo)
*Very calm player. Performed very well. He drew with GM Bui Vinh in the 1st round.


Elgin Lee Kah Meng (1852 elo)
*Potential and talented player.


Ismail Ahmad (2033 elo)
*A coach. Very strong in the younger days.


Mohd Nabil (1981 elo)
*KL Grand prix 2nd leg champion. He defeated WFM Smith Vivian from new Zealand in round 5.


Marcus Yeoh Phee Leong (1999 elo)
*Haven't been active this few years but always performed very well in every tournament. He is also a chess arbiter too.


Razali Hamzah a.k.a Ng6 (1669 elo)
*Under rated player. Performed very well in this tournament. Strong but careless when goes to time pressure.


Rosli Ahmad Afiq Afyfy (1938 elo)
*From Sarawak. Very active in chess tournament recently.


WCM Nur Nabila (1829 elo)
*Finalist for the Malaysia Women Master. Very sharp player.


WFM Nur Najiha
*Younger sister of WCM Nur Nabila. A calm and strong player too.


Amier Hamzah B. Mohd Zuhri (1723 elo)
*Great potential chess player. Never give up easily kid.


Abdul Wahab Najib
*A famous arbiter and a strong chess player. Have been defeating IM few months back.


Alfred Ting Shih Chieh
*Did not performed very well in this tournament. Just need a point from a FIDE rated player to get his new rating.
