1st FIDE Rated Kelantan Round Robin Event

source: datcc blog

The Persatuan Catur Negeri Kelantan is organzing its 1st FIDE Rated round robin event consisting of 12 aspiring and top Kelantanese players starting this Friday, 16th September 2011

The main challenge in organizing such an event was the need to combine strong Kelantan players who are based in Kelantan and Kuala Lumpur into playing a single Round Robin event. To overcome this challenge, the event has been divided into two groups of 6 players - one based in Kota Bahru whilst the other in Kuala Lumpur to play against one another first. And once the local group event concludes, all the players will then combine to finish off the remaining unplayed rounds at a site/date to be determined later.

For the KL group, the KL based players are:
1 - Ariez Azman
2 - Abdul Haq Mohammed
3 - Wan Mahadzir Wan Sulaiman
4 - Nik Ahmad Farouqi Nik Abdul Aziz
5 - Nasrul Humaimi Mahmood
6 - Mohd Ezmi  Mahmood

Round 1 for the KL group is scheduled to start this Friday, 16th September 2011 at 9:00am at DATCC, 4th Floor Wilayah Complex with Ariez playing Nasrul, Haq against Wan Mahadzir, and Nik Farouqi and Ezmi making up the last pair.
